Hi, I'm Brad.
For over 20 years, I’ve had the privilege to serve couples from all over the world as a professional 5-star reviewed wedding officiant and relationship coach who genuinely cares—not just about the service I provide, but cares about you.
It's been an honor standing with hundreds of couples on one of the most meaningful days of their lives and I love it - It's truly a passion!
I believe weddings should be a true reflection of your relationship—personal, memorable, and full of life. Not a formality, and certainly not something your guests simply endure until the reception as ‘just another wedding’, but a celebration remembered from the very beginning with love, meaning, and fun for years to come! However, a wedding is a day, but marriage a lifetime. That’s why I bring both experience and intention into every ceremony as a team player, and into the coaching that helps you build something lasting beyond it.
My background includes formal training in counseling, theology, and leadership. I’m a certified life coach and licensed to perform weddings in Alberta (including the mountains) as an officiant/clery for both non-religious and religious ceremonies privately and in the past with companies like Enduring Promises and Urban Officiants (reviews can also be seen with them).
I grew up in the Middle East (by that I mean 'Ontario'...lol) and I have spent much of my life in Calgary. I am adopted with a twin, come from a blended family and now have one of my own, giving me a personal understanding of both the beauty and the complexity of relationships.
I’m married to my amazing wife and am a proud father of two daughters. I love guitar, mountains, working out, travel, and ice cream!

Brad was amazing as our Officiant! As soon as we met him we knew he was the right fit for us on our special day. He exceeded our expectations and put us at ease right away. Throughout the planning process Brad was very helpful and encouraging as we wrote our vows and developed the ceremony. From mountain tops to backyards and everything in between, in the city or back country, creating a ceremony experience that is personalized, customized, memorable – as you envision! Coaching, helping, and being with you from beginning to post wedding and working alongside all vendors as a team so we can slow time down and pause the moment you say ‘I do’ with lasting memory! Followed by submitting the marriage license to the government of AB by officiant, providing a personal marriage certifcate and next steps on ordering a legal one.

Investing into your marriage is the best investment into your wedding. Book a 4-10 session fully customisable package with options single add-ons and a couple's report to help road map a personal/relational pulse. Many couples go to the altar of marriage saying, 'I do', never thinking one day they might say, 'what do I do? now? This isn't just about laying a good foundation, but when you have one, what about the underlying areas that still impact us. It's not about what's wrong with you but protecting what's
right between you.

REHEARSALS:
I run rehearsals creating the experience that is beyond expectations and captures the best memories and photos. The rehearsal is the best investment into the ceremony itself. If you have a bridal party of any size, guests, ease the nerves and ensure everyone is ready for the big day with confidence, connection, and nothing is missed.
Travel Fees Outside of Calgary:
Canmore/Olds/Longview $159; Kananaskis $175; Banff $179; Lake Louise $219;
Bow Lake/Peyto Lake/Pincher Creek/Lethbridge - $250; Nordegg $300; Moraine $319 (includes shuttle time);
(Additional hours at sites - $100/hr)
Other locations travel fees can be discussed in the consultation.
* All service fees are in Canadian dollars and subject to 5% GST. Ceremonies are secured with a non-refundable deposit.
Licensing: Brad Brownell can perform legal wedding ceremonies (non-faith & faith-based) in the province of Alberta as an officiant/clergy licensed with and in agreement with licensing agengy of Calgary Hope Church. For out of province ceremonies, an application can be made.
